The ceremonial opening of a modern sports complex on the Champs de Mars in Wroclaw took place. End result of our engineering works – managing the investment of the Academy of Physical Education for more than two years- extends the portfolio of Miastoprojekt Wroclaw by yet another important realization of sports infrastructure.
New sports facility in the capital of Lower Silesia is a complex of sports fields, research and education building with a set of gym areas. Three full-size grass pitches are designed for the game of football. One of them is equipped with an artificial grass surface without filling (IV generation). On the remaining football pitches – with sandy and polyurethane substrate – it will be possible to organize volleyball matches (including the beach ball), beach soccer, handball and basketball games. According to the preliminary findings these objects will be available for use not only for the university and the residents of the city of Wrocław, but also they will be the potential training base for the national team preparing for Euro 2012.
Launch of the complex is crowned by conclusion of the contract between the Academy of Physical Education and Miastoprojekt Wroclaw – the agreement signed in 2008 on the general supervision and management of investment in accordance with FIDIC rules – while performing the function of engineer we participated in this project from the beginning, engaging in the selection of the designer, and subsequently- supervising over his work and verifying the provisions of the agreement – says Grzegorz Rosik, Director of Miastoprojekt Wroclaw. The next steps made by the company were: participation in the selection of the general contractor, supervising over the construction and final decision-making related to permits for the use of the complex.
The value of the investment amounted to a total of approx. 30 million PLN. The project was co-financed by the European Union and the Ministry of Sport and Tourism. – For the engineer with the function of complex investment management-this meant in practice also the surveillance and settlements with the finance-providing units – as emphasized by Gregory Rosik.
